Why are there so many different motor sizes? »»

For variable demands of purposes, constructions and power needs a different motor-blade combination is designed. Surely for an optimal efficiency the load on the motor and the power output of the motor have to match

Which size of impellers are available? »»

Vostermans delivers a wide range of impellers varying in size (20 to 130 cm/8" to 50") and material (polypropylene, polypropylene with glass fiber, nylon, aluminium)

What makes the bearings special? »»

The used bearings are specifically made for the Multifan fan: tolerances, tightning, material and grease differ from standard bearings. Extra tolerances have been built in to cope with higher temperature differences. The grease is protected against water and ammonia.

Is there a special process to the motor manufacture/assembly that makes it better than competition? »»

Vostermans Ventilation equipment and tools are specifically chosen to fulfill the high quality standards necessary for the motor market. The integrated quality processes pro-actively prevent offset of dimensions or tolerances.

What are the pros & cons for the newer “Q” style panel fans, versus the original version with the die cast aluminum panel? »»

This is called the Q panel fan. The panel frame is molded, the material is SMC (Solid Mold Compound), a polyester material reinforced with glass fiber.

The Q panel fan:

As strong as the aluminum panel and actually handles vibration and corrosive elements better than the aluminum.
The panel parts can be nested together for lower transportation costs.
The motor and arms can be mounted and removed much faster by a new
mounting method.
Has different motor mounts, but the motor windings and characteristics
are the same as the original.
The overall panel fan cost is lower.
The noise level is lower.

Is there a special process to the motor development that it makes it better than competition? »»

One important aspect of the Multifan line is the perfect match between the motor and impeller. For each different application an optimal solution is searched.

When we compare our motor to other brands, why is ours worth more money? »»

The 5 major USP's are: severe duty (3 years warranty), waterproof (IP55, UL507), low noise, variable speed and low energy consumption. In circumstances where more than one USP is required, the Multifan line is very competitive.

The Vostermans Ventilation motor and fan is first class because:

Variable speed controllability, to be able to adjust the volume of air output and electricity used.
Wash down motor, which allows the fan to be cleaned with a low-pressure sprayer.
Other components of the fan (housing, fan guard, impeller) also allow for cleaning this way.
UL507 listed for outdoor use.
Motor power consumption (watts) for a specific air flow is stated on the motor plate.
Can operate in hot conditions up to 140° F, depending on load, fan type and speed control.
